Business gifts make the perfect liaison often times between companies.  The present excellent advertising and bridge building opportunities, and they are fun to give as well as to get.  There are a wide variety of business gifts given today, from promotional food products to high quality office supplies.  The type and quality of the business gifts you give depending on the situation, and intended recipient, and the intended result of the gift.  Taking some time to put some thought into it can make sure your business gifts get their point across and have the intended effect on their recipients.

Some companies choose to keep smaller business gifts on hand to give on the spur of the moment.   Some are tied to the type of business giving them away, but it is really not necessary that this be the case.  For example, a bank may have boxes full of change purses and small piggy banks available to give as business gifts to new customers, students, and potential or existing customers for various reasons.  They may also give ink pens, compact mirrors and brushes, pencils, and key chains as business gifts, and these items have nothing to do with the business of banking.

Some business gifts that may be special ordered include ordering promotional clothing for employees.  T-shirts with the company logo and maybe even the recipient's name embroidered on them make great gifts for casual Fridays.  When an important potential client is visiting, a company may wish to present the representatives with business gifts of somewhat higher quality.  An example of this is an apron or grill set given by a barbeque sauce company to a restaurant considering using their sauce

Sometimes it is difficult to determine what types of business gifts to give, and sometimes budget decides it for you.  For conferences, it is nice to have a goodie bag of smaller business gifts for attendees.  Typically a mix of practical items for adults as well as small, simple toys for children works well.  Practical business gifts such as mirrors and brushes may get used more often, putting the logo out there to be seen more often.  Even those who do not have children enjoy the toys as they will almost definitely have children in their office at some point, and these can work to keep the occupied.  Snack items also are well received as business gifts, but they are not that far reaching, as the wrappers are discarded soon after consumption.
